Yellow signs with a black arrow will guide you to the greenhouses. Look for them on the side of the road. These greenhouses may be toured in any order and any or all of them visited during your tour. It is recommended you start at #1, The New Hanover County Arboretum.
NHC Arboretum – 6206 Oleander Dr. The NHC Arboretum is located at the far eastern end of Oleander Drive (Hwy 76) not far
from the turn to Wrightsville Beach. The greenhouses are located on the left side of the Arboretum grounds behind the auditorium.
Dick Stinson- 5410 Myrtle Grove Rd., Wilmington. Exit the Arboretum by turning left onto Oleander Dr. (Use extreme caution
when turning left- heavy traffic). Continue on Oleander Dr. for about 2 miles. Turn sharp left onto Pine Grove Dr.at traffic light.
Continue for 5 1/2 miles. Turn left onto Myrtle Grove Rd. Destination is immediately on your right.
Kelly & Gary Jones – 1706 Kennedy Rd., Wilmington. Exit Dick’s by turning right. . Continue on Myrtle Grove Rd. for 1⁄2 mile.
Turn left onto Kennedy Rd. Destination will be on your right. Enter property through the double gates.
Kathie & Ray Wycoff- 6408 Berridge Dr., Wilmington – Exit Jones property to the right. At stop sign, turn left onto Myrtle
Grove RD.. Continue on Myrtle Grove for 1. 6 miles. Turn right onto Golden Rd. Continue for 3⁄4 mile. At traffic light turn left onto
Carolina Beach Rd. In 1,000feet turn right onto Halyburton Memorial Pkwy. Take 1st left onto Berridge Dr. Destination is on the
right (3rd house on the right)
Ann & Jan Selfe- 116 Lamb’s Court- Exit Wycoff’s. Turn left onto Halyburton Memorial Pkwy. Continue 1 1⁄2 miles. (Stay left)
Note: There are a LOT of speed bumps. At stop sign turn right onto River Rd. Go 1⁄2 mile then turn right onto River Breeze Dr.
At stop sign turn right onto Lipscomb Dr. In 1,000 feet turn right onto Lamb’s Court. Destination is on the left.
Richard & Karin Hollembeak- 318 Yorkshire Lane, Wilmington. Exit Selfes.. Turn left, then left, to return to River Rd.
Right onto River Rd. for 1 1⁄2 miles. At traffic circle, 1st right onto Sanders Rd. Turn left onto Carolina Beach Rd. at traffic light.
Continue for 1 mile, then straight onto 132N, College Rd. for 2 miles. Turn right onto Lansdowne Road . Go 1⁄4 mile, turn left onto
Yorkshire Lane for 1⁄2 mile. Destination is on your right.
Jay Hockenbury-4018 Crofton Place, Wilmington. Leave Hollembeaks. Go straight on Yorkshire to Derby Down Way. Turn left
and then right onto Brookshire, then left onto Waltmoor. Continue 1⁄4 mile onto 17th St. Continue 1 mile and turn left onto George
Anderson Dr. at the 2nd .traffic light. Continue 1 mile (crossing Carolina Beach Rd.) into Echo Farms. Take 1st right at the traffic
circle. In 1⁄2 mile take left onto Appleton Way. (Watch for speed bumps) Continue 1⁄2 mile and turn right onto N. Crofton Place.
Destination is on the right.
Matt Collogan- 173 Yorktown Dr., Wilmington. Exit Jay’s. Turn left onto Appleton Way. Go 1⁄2 mile and turn left onto Echo
Farms Blvd. Continue 1⁄4 mile, then turn right onto Independence Blvd. Go 1⁄2 mile and turn left onto Carolina Beach Rd.
Continue 3 miles, bear right onto Burnett Blvd. (Becomes 3rd Street) Continue 4 miles to NC133 North – exit toward Burgaw.
Take exit to right. End of ramp is Castle Hayne Rd. Continue 3⁄4 mile and turn left onto Yorktown Dr. Destination will be
on the right.
Marion Kreh- 127 McDougald Dr., Castle Hayne. Exit Matt’s by turning left onto Castle Hayne Road. Continue
about 4 miles. McDougald Dr. is the first street on the left past GE. Continue 1/4 mile on McDougald Dr. Destination
is on the left (corner lot).
Shelton Herb Farm- 340 Goodman Rd., Leland – Exit Marion’s. Exit McDougald, turn right onto Castle Hayne Rd.
Continue 3⁄4 miles, turn left onto I-140 West (Myrtle Beach, Shallotte). Continue on I-140 for 17 miles. Exit onto Hwy 17
toward Myrtle Beach. Use left lane to U-turn back toward Wilmington. Stay in left lane (Hwy 17 North). for a couple of miles.
Turn left onto Goodman Road. (You will see a Circle K gas station on the right just beyond the turn and a Martin Storage
Business on the left just north of the turn onto Goodman Rd.) Continue on Goodman Rd. for about 1 mile. Shelton Herb Farm
will be on your right. To return to Wilmington, you just follow Hwy 17 North about 8 miles to the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge.
