For over 50 years, Hobby Greenhouse Club members have been sharing their enthusiasm for gardening and growing their skills together in the Wilmington, NC area. Whether you have a greenhouse or just a windowsill, you’ll find that our club is the perfect place to meet local gardeners of all skill levels, interests, and ages. Our annual membership fee of $12 for individuals ($15 for families) gives you access to our newsletter and monthly meeting.
- Monthly meetings: On the second Tuesday of every month at 7pm, we host workshops, speakers, contests, and social events, with delicious treats provided by members.
- Plant sales: Our plant sales in April and September feature a variety of plants at the best prices in town. All plants are grown by club members, and we often have unique and interesting plants that you won’t find at the big box stores.
- Greenhouse tour: Each March, club members open their gardens and greenhouses to viewing by the public. This is a free, self-paced event with greenhouses in Brunswick, Pender, and New Hanover counties.
- Field trips: We organize field trips to learn together off site.
- Scholarships: We are pleased to offer scholarships to horticultural students at Cape Fear Community College and Brunswick Community College, funded by proceeds from our plant sales.
